NORTH LIMA, Ohio (WKBN) – There are a lot of ways to deal with the nuisance of losing power in your home, but it can be a lot harder for those who are elderly or for those who live alone. That's something Tom McGinnis knows all too well so he bought his mother a full-house generator from Generator Specialist in North Lima.
"My father passed away and we live in a low area," said McGinnis. "Whenever we lose power there is a great chance that the basement starts to flood. That was one of her fears. I called Generator Specialist and they installed a whole house generator so now my mom doesn't have to worry about that."

"We can take some of the circuits you want to run whether be a sump pump, the furnace, a water pump, a microwave, a garage door, and we can put them into a panel that has a transfer switch on top and a distribution panel below so when the power fails, only what's in that panel will actually operate on the generator," said Krake.

"If that sump pump fails we get a lot of water that's going to end up in the basement and cause problems there," said Krake. "A lot of people have breathing apparatuses or oxygen machines they don't to fail. That's another reason for emergency power."
